JUNE 17—27, 2026 Individuals, Couples and Families

Note: If you would like to be added to the interest list for Breathe 2026, please email

If you serve cross-culturally, you understand the unique and complex challenges that global workers face. Learning language, unfamiliar social systems, changing roles, shifiting identities, climate and geography, political instability, and more can wear on the soul. Add to that the daily realities of working on multicultural teams, managing visas, navigating health concerns, meeting children's educational needs, coping with isolation, and maintaining relationships. It's no surprise that many global workers grow weary and lose heart.

That's why Breathe exists. Our mission is to support the resilience and renewal of full-time Christian global workers so you can continue serving with strength, hope, and joy. Guided by experienced member care professionals, you'll have space to process and receive care in a setting designed for restoration. Every part of this ten-day experience—from teaching sessions and small group discussions to counseling, a medical consult, massage, spiritual direction, and life coaching—is thoughtfully crafted to help global workers persevere and thrive in long-term ministry. Children and teens participate in programs designed to specifically meet the unique needs of Third Culture Kids.

Because space is limited—and demand continues to grow—we’re giving priority to those individuals, couples or families planning to live outside of their passport countries as they continue in global ministry.

Location

Ahhh, Switzerland. Fresh MOUNTAIN AIR. BREATHTAKING vistas. And, YES —chocolate!

Breathe is hosted at Credo Schloss Unspunnen, a Christian retreat center nestled in Wildersil, Switzerland. This castle-like hotel offers stunning views—on one side the towering glacier of the Jungfrau; on the other, the serene waters of  Lake of Brienz. The city of Interlaken is a 5-minute drive or a scenic 20-minute walk (3 km). Credo is ideally situated in one of the most awe-inspiriting regions of Switzerland, with easy access to hiking, cycling, swimming, paragliding, and other outdoor activities.

Credo has 130 beds in a variety of room types—doubles, triples, quads and a few larger rooms accomodating families of 5-7. Some rooms have en-suite bathrooms, while others have shared facilities down the hall. The facility features several meeting rooms, cozy lounges, a playground, sports fields for soccer and basketball, and terraces with panoramic views.

Credo's warm and welcoming staff manage all meals and housekeeping. That means three delicious meals a day—and none of them made by you.

It's a truly unbelievable setting—peaceful, safe, and full of beauty.

PROGRAM

AdultS

You've likely attended lots of conferences—but Breathe is different. There are no stuffed notebooks, long seminars, or jam-packed schedules. Instead, you'll find open space to breathe—literally and figuratively. Take a hike, enjoy a nap, relax with a massage, or sit with a cappuccino and watch the cows graze in the meadow. Wander along the river, explore a nearby Swiss village, or marvel at the beauty of God's creation.
Each morning we gather for worship, meaningful Biblical teaching, engaging discussions, and personal reflection. In the afternoons, you'll have the opportunity to meet with a counselor to process issues affecting you or your family.

Counseling at Breathe goes deep. Led by trained member care professionals, it’s a safe space to work through grief, trauma, anxiety, burnout, family struggles, or other emotional and relational challenges. Each individual or couple receives seven one-hour sessions with a professional. In addition, a physician is available to consult on health concerns, and massage therapists are on hand to offer restorative care.

CHILDREN

Our amazing children’s team comes ready to serve—with hearts full of love and bags full of creative crafts, stories, songs, and games! Elementary-aged kids enjoy a vibrant Vacation Bible Camp-style program both mornings and afternoons. Preschoolers (ages 2–5) are lovingly cared for each morning and again for an hour after lunch, allowing parents to attend their counseling sessions. Because of the intensive nature of the Breathe program, we encourage parents to wait until their youngest child is at least two years old in order to fully engage with the experience.

TeenS

Our youth leaders create space for teens to open up about the unique joys and struggles of growing up cross-culturally. Through Bible study, worship, creative expression, hiking, games, exploring, and just hanging out—they build community, process their experiences, and, yeah—have a ton of fun!

Arriving

Both Zurich and Geneva airports are directly connected to Switzerland’s excellent public transportation system. From either airport, you can take a scenic train ride to Interlaken West—about 2.5 hours from Zurich or 3 hours from Geneva. Trains run hourly, and our Breathe staff will meet you at the Interlaken West Train Station to bring you to the conference center.

Many guests travel by train using the Swiss Rail System, while some families choose to rent a car for added flexibility. A rental car is not necessary—everything you need is close by—but for those considering one, AVIS, Hertz, Europcar, Sixt, and Budget all operate in Switzerland. Some families compare the cost of round-trip train tickets with a week-long rental and find the difference minimal, especially when traveling with children or planning post-conference excursions.

If you plan to explore more of Switzerland before or after Breathe, consider purchasing a Swiss Half Fare Card to save on train travel throughout the country.

STORIES

"Breathe accomplishes what it’s named for – providing much needed space and opportunity for front-line workers to get alone with God and each other for communion, fellowship and Sabbath rest. There is no other place like it to step back and allow God to breathe new life and refreshment into our lives. It invites workers to hit the reset button and move forward with lots of encouragement, fresh vision and anointing for the next season of life and ministry."

"This trip was so healing for my family. Not only do we feel better about our struggles in this past year, but we actually feel hopeful about our future. Despite all the praise we’d heard about Breathe, I didn’t think 10 days could do that for me. It’s hard to describe how peaceful it was to get away from the violence where we work and be treated with such compassion by all the staff. I can’t say enough good things about this ministry."
